We have traditionally been taught that constipation is defined by how often you …


We have traditionally been taught that constipation is defined by how often you poop. Those that poop less than 3 times per week are constipated.

While this is true, there is much more to the story. Constipation can be defined by frequent straining, lumpy or hard stools, incomplete emptying or the feeling of a blockage.

There are a number of ways that these could manifest, as I’m showing you here.

The most important thing is to understand what’s happening with your body. If the issue is inadequate bowel evacuation, then the solution is typically working to establish a better rhythm.
